Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Key Performance International Recruitment Ltd (KPI:Recruitment) is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. This target would ensure KPI:Recruitment a net zero position 10 years before the 2050 target.

Reporting progress:

KPI:Recruitment will report carbon impact via 3 core sources of emissions, scope 1,2 & 3.

Definitions of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions

Essentially, scope 1 and 2 are those emissions that are owned or controlled by a company, whereas scope 3 emissions are a consequence of the activities of the company but occur from sources not owned or controlled by it.

Scope 1 emissions

Scope 1 covers emissions from sources that an organisation owns or controls directly – for example from burning fuel in our fleet of vehicles (if they’re not electrically-powered).

Without a fleet of vehicles, KPI:Recruitment has included the following items in the scope 1 tariff:

Office – electricity & gas

Usage has been categorised to include:

Scope 2 emissions

Scope 2 are emissions that a company causes indirectly when the energy it purchases and uses is produced. For example, for our electric fleet vehicles the emissions from the generation of the electricity they’re powered by would fall into this category.

Scope 3 emissions

Scope 3 encompasses emissions that are not produced by the company itself, and not the result of activities from assets owned or controlled by them, but by those that it’s indirectly responsible for, up and down its value chain. An example of this is when we buy, use and dispose of products from suppliers. Scope 3 emissions include all sources not within the scope 1 and 2 boundaries.

KPI:Recruitment scope 3 tariff includes:

  • Staff travel
  • Sub contractor travel
  • Sub contractor accommodation

Baseline Emissions Footprint

To effectively report the impact of our work, KPI:Recruitment set the baseline for our reporting on 21/10/2023.

As a company nearing 6 months since inception, KPI:Recruitment held a single office site and 6 employees. Our employees worked an average of 1 day per week from home.

All of our employees lived within 5 miles of our office location. Our baseline values for reporting/ progress tracking are:

Baseline year (2023) emissions:

EMISSIONS TOTAL (kgCO2e)

Scope 1 3114

Scope 2 2760

Scope 3 9490

Total Emissions: 15364

KPI:Recruitment will publish an annual report, the next report is due on 21/10/2024

Emissions Reduction Targets

2021 has provided our baseline and we are now working on the detail for our targets to reduce our emissions to net zero by 2040.

KPI:Recruitment has implemented the following management measures to maintain our trajectory towards our 2040 goal.

Internal colleagues: monthly collation of travel milegage

Internal colleagues: confirmation of vehicle type (Petrol/ Diesel/ Electric) Sub contractors: monthly collation of travel milegage

Sub contractors: confirmation of vehicle type (Petrol/ Diesel/ Electric) Site to Site travel: internal colleague, sub contractor (both distance and mode of transport) Office expansion: growth in size, additional sites

Hardware: number of devices

Accommodation: bi-annual review of carbon/ environment policies/ performance vs pledges. Our strategy will develop further as we onboard ISO14001 principles and subsequent eKPI’s.

We anticipate growth in emissions from 2023/24 due to growth of infrastructure and both internal colleagues and sub contractors. Our aim is to reduce emissions year on year from 2023/24. It is anticipated the 2023/24 will represent a truer “baseline” which we can reduce from. Offsetting emissions is part of our plan for reducing emissions to net zero.

2023-28 – Reduce emissions by 20%

2028-32 – Reduce emissions by 20%

2032-34 – Reduce emissions by 20%

2034-36 – Reduce emissions by 20%

2036-40 – Reduce emissions by 20%

With an annual target reduction in carbon emissions of 5%, KPI:Health can achieve Net Zero by 2040.

Our Carbon Reduction plan and accompanying target pledges have been approved by our Managing Director:
